What’s On Your Plate?
What are your thoughts about food, nutrition, health, and eating — all of those things that are served up, so to speak, on the plate of food choices that are ours each day as we navigate the journey toward a healthy life?
We named our business “The New Plate” when we discovered that everything we’ve been told or sold on by Big Business was an illusion. For many years, the food that we’ve been putting on our plates has become a concoction of chemicals, artificial ingredients, and toxic substances. Our general diet is no longer edible!. Just look at the list of ingredients on most product packaging. Impossible to nourish our bodies!
Things can change, and they are! Thanks to a few caring companies, wise farmers, and various moms’ groups that are devoting their lives to informing us about what is true nourishment, we can begin to offer better, safer, healthier alternatives. Everything we put on our plates, and how we prepare and serve it, needs to lead to better health.
So that is why, in these times, we offer “The New Plate” and live by our motto of “healing with food”!
With that focus, when we ferment our sourdough starter, bake our gluten-free breads, cook or bake our various specialty goodies, or produce sauerkrauts and other ferments — we take great care to ensure that the food you eat retains all the nutrients, vitamins, and biotic elements that are friendly to the digestive system, which is the powerhouse of your health:
· We buy the best flour we can buy: organic, non-GMO, natural.
· We do not use seed oils.
· We use filtered water.
· Our sourdough is fermented for 8 to 10 hours or more. This pre-digests the grain in the flour so that your body does not have to.
· We soak and dehydrate all the nuts we might put into our bread products. We do this because every nut contains lectins. Lectins will act like sandpaper on your gut, creating a leaky gut which can compromise various bodily organs.
· We bake our products in safe bakeware, containing no “forever chemicals (PFAS) or aluminum.
· All of our muffins are baked in clean parchment paper and muffin cups.
