Overview
GAPS™ stands for Gut And Psychology Syndrome. This simply means that a healthy gut connects to a healthy brain. In other words, the health of the digestive system can directly influence brain health.
Using food as the healing source, we consult with and work with families to help heal chronic childhood disorders such as autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, depression, anxiety, and other neurological difficulties related to gut and immune system health.
At The New Plate, we specialize in treating the expression of autism throughout the spectrum.
As a GAPS™ Certified Food Coach, Fina can consult and provide services in the areas of nutrition, menus, gut health, meal plans, and healing programs for children with autism, ADHD, and many other neurological disorders.
This protocol was created by Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride, M.D., as she worked with and cured her own autistic child. Dr. McBride has post-graduate degrees as Master of Medical Sciences in Neurology and as Master of Medical Sciences in Human Nutrition.
In the local and online outreach of our consulting program, we work in partnership with Dr. Christine Morgan N.D., PSc.D. She is a traditional Naturopath, in practice for 36 years. She specializes in gastrointestinal health, imbalances, and disease. She also specializes in Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD (ADD), and autoimmune disorders.
